Thomas, Carol Lee Muskegon Carol Lee Thomas, 67, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 in Muskegon. She was born April 23, 1949 to James and Nellie (Snyder) Hoekenga in Muskegon, and was a life resident. Carol had worked for the State of Michgan as an Adult Protective Services Social Worker before retiring. She is survived by her son, Simon Hoekenga; dear friends, Anna Hanks, April Taylor, Jared Taylor, Alice Cooper, Sara Cooper, Tova Cooper, Mary Oudsema and Janice Pugh; and her loving puppies, Libby and Haley. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Seth Hoekenga. A gathering to celebrate Carol's life will be held at a later date.
