My oldest son Eric is married to Trisha and they have two children Nathan and Grace. Eric is the National Sales Manager for Owens Corning (Accessories) and works out of his house in Muskegon and Trisha is a pharamacist for Mercy Hospital.

Greg is married to Rachel and they have a son Gavin. Greg is a barber in Dayton, Ohio and Rachel is a buyer for Speedway.

School Story:

Although I was a marginal student at best, I had a great time. I made great friends many of whom I still keep in contact yet today. I enjoyed participating in track and cross country and I think that I wore out my varsity jacket because that is all I wore. Immediately after I graduated from MHS I joined the US Air Force (Air Police) and served for 4 years. My work career was primarily in customer service, sales and international sales and I got the opportunity to travel the world. After 23 years of service at Howmet (ALCOA) I was able to retire at the age of 55. In retirement I have been a Hospice volunteer and very active serving our local veterans.

Only 18 days until our 50th Reunion. The committee looks forward to seeing all on you who are going to attend and will miss those who aren't. This post is about two of the events that are scheduled to take place on Saturday - PBR 7331 and the LST 393.

Originally the PBR 7331 (Vietnam Era Boat) was scheduled to be in the water and operational. In additionally boat rides were scheduled to be given. Unfortunately due to delays in getting the engines overhauled, it will not be available for rides at this time. I will have it available on a static display (adjacent to the LST), for your viewing and you will be able to climb aboard and see what it looks like. I will also have a representative there to give you details of the boat and how it functioned in Vietnam.

The LST 393 is the other option that you may have signed up to tour. While normally this is a self guided tour and you are welcome to do this method, I have another option. If you would like for me to give you a guided tour of the ship (which normally takes about 45 minutes) I will be available on the half hour at the bow of the ship (meet at the bench on the gangplank) and would love for you to join me. The tours will be given at 10:30 am, 11:30 am and 12:30 pm.

However you want to take the tour, just advise them at the front desk that you are with the MHS Class of 67 and they will allow you in at "No Charge".

I hope that you enjoy both of these pieces of our military history and look forward to seeing you all.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me at 231-744-5166. Steve Allen

CONGRATULATIONS MHS Class of "67". Exactly 50 years ago today we graduated from Muskegon High School. While I wasn't the valedictorian I was in the "Top 500" which was a great accomplishment for me..... So going through some of my old stuff and getting ready for our next class reunion meeting on Sunday, I found my high school diploma and thought you should all be reminded of your accomplishments. Congratulations Classmates - I hope to reconnect with you at the reunion in September.

I was fortunate enough to retire at the age of 55. Since that time I have been active in veterans groups and in the support of veterans. I have served as a Commander for VFW Post 446, currently the Commander of Muskegon County Council VFW. (Which performs funerals for veterans). Serve on the committee for the Muskegon Memorial Day Parade Committee, Veterans Day Committee, Board of Directors for the LST 393, Board of Directors for the PBR (Patrol Boat River - a boat used in Vietnam on the Mekong Delta) and have been the veterans representative for Harbor Hospice. While I have been busy it is always an honor my comrades. I just returned from a trip to France. I got to complete one of my bucket list items and visit the hollow ground of Normandy. An absolute moving experience. I hope to see everyone at the reunion.
