In Memory

James (Perry) Vulgaris

Perry was pictured in our Yearbook as a Junior, and a few classmates have asked about him.  We did a search and could not find him listed anywhere as having graduated in '67 or '68 so we do not know the circumstances of his not graduating.  We guessed he might have gone in the military or his family may have moved so he graduated from another school (perhaps Gran Haven where he worked?), but we could not find out.  We spoke with his nephew, Chris Vulgaris, who did not know anything about him graduating.  But he did tell us that when Perry died he told his nephew that his only regret was not having children.

Perry was 55 when he died.  His parents were Chris & Helen Anton Vulgaris.  He served in the US Army during Vietnam.  He had been employed as a machinist at Screw Machine Specialties in Grand Haven and was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.  He was a quiet man who loved nature, was a serious birder, and an accomplished amateur photographer.  He was survived by a brother, Gus, and sister, Diane.
