It is sad to see another classmate has passed on.  I knew Dave from my early days at Moon School.  He was always just one of the guys.  We separated during Junior HIgh when I went to Nelson and he went to Steele.  I am not sure what happened to him at Steele, but when we met up again at MSH.  Dave had turned into this hunk that seemed to attract the attention of all the best looking girls in the school.  You know the kind of girl that us nerds just drooled over but would never have the courage to speak to let alone ask out on a date.  So when Dave was dating the best looking girls in the Senior Class while we were Juniors,. He became almost a folk hero to some of us.

While Dave was very popular in High School, I never found him arrogant.  He was always approachable and willing to converse.  David's service to his Country during the Vietnam War speaks volumes to his inner character.  I am just sadden to see another icon from the class of 1967 slip into eternity.

I pray that he is at peace and his family will be consuled in this time of deep sorrow.

This is a late post regarding Mr. David Allen Young.  After not using this web site much, and recently finding this comment In Memory section, things I have carried within must be posted.  I have had a heavy heart with Davey-do's passing.  We became fast friends from summers in football practice and spend lots of time doing all manner of crazy things together.  Many stories too crazy and too long for this format. I called him "Davey-do" because there was so much he could do.  He was my reliable companion is some pretty crazy times, and would actually do some really stupid stunts with me.  Like Mark Jewett, I loved him like a brother.  It was always hurts that I missed not having been able to see or visit with him since the 70's.  He will always be there in my memory with that overwhelming smile and giggle, his "we can do this" attitude, his easy going demeanor.  For good or bad, he would go with me. I was probably a bad influence on him, truth be told. But he was my very good friend. I love you David Allen Young.  You are missed.
