In Memory

Cristie Kerr (Erxleben)

(Note - Christie is listed to have officially graduated in 1968 with the name of Christine DeMarse (her son's last name) but was pictured as Junior in Class of '67 1966 yearbook & she self-selected 1967 as year she graduated when signing onto Classmates.com.  She most likely was a night school graduate (1968) after having married Mr. DeMarse.  Our class claims her - 1968 does not)

Cristie Jo Erxleben, age 68, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, after a short battle with cancer. Cristie was born on February 1, 1949, the daughter of Arnold and Olive Kerr. Cristie worked as a home decorator for many years. She designed and decorated hundreds of homes throughout West Michigan. In 1993, she married Gene Erxleben and together they were blessed with 24 years of marriage. She enjoyed golf cart rides, shopping, crafts, road trips, making new friends, and throwing parties. Cristie was a driven, motivated, joyful, and adventurous woman. She loved to take drives with her family and never believed that "no trespassing" signs applied to her. She was a generous loving woman and will be deeply missed. Cristie is survived by: her husband, Gene; children, Andy (Tracy) DeMarse and Mary (Jerry) Nummer; grandchildren, Ellie, Myah, Patrick and Sarah; greatgrandson, Jack; sister, Marcia Stauffer; and niece, Bobbi. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Arnold and Olive; granddaughter, Erica; and nephew, Mark.

Her birth name was Cristie not Christine. My very special friend for many, many years.

My neighbor and dear friend.  My very first job was driving her father on his rounds as a traveling salesman.
